Did you know there is a place nestled in the forest, where you can learn about salmon and other wildlife in our community?
Mossom Creek Hatchery and Education Centre is one of the longest-running hatcheries in BC! They are always welcoming new volunteers and visitors of all ages to their weekly Salmon Sunday events. You may find the regular volunteers here greeting visitors, testing water quality, caring for fish, maintaining the facility, or doing yard work.
Whether you are visiting with friends, family, or by yourself, I'm sure you will quickly be inspired by the passion and energy they bring to educating the public while continuing to care for nature.
"Our motto is 'You only care about what you know about.' ... We help people become more excited and engaged, and Port Moody's wildlife gains nature advocates."
— Ruth Foster, Mossom Creek Hatchery and Education Centre
